I was addicted to meth the first time I tried it, at age 13. I had been an honor roll student, and came from a great family, but I had never felt so good as meth made me feel the first time I did it. That was the beginning of a fierce downward spiral. My brother and I were both addicts for years. Because of meth, I dropped out of high school as a freshman, left my house and pretty much moved into a meth lab. I met people and saw things there that people should never even see in nightmares. I was dating a 24 year old convicted felon who constantly abused me, and struggled with this horrible drug for years.

It got to the point where I was physically fighting with my mom, stealing her credit cards, or anything that I could find, and trading it for drugs. It makes you do anything for it... I stole cars, and broke into homes, all for the high. When I turned 16 I realized that it was now or never and that I had to get out of the meth scene, I was destroying my body, my life, and my family. I made the decision to quit, and I did so... cold turkey. I went back to school, and have been clean for almost 8 years now, and have a great job. It is possible!

To this day I still feel effects of this drug, and they will probably last a life time. Meth is a demon, and it will slowly destroy whoever chooses to use it. It causes you to steal, lie, hurt people, and do anything physically possible to get the drug. I have too many horror stories that I will carry with me for my entire life, they haunt me at times, and I am sorry for all ex meth addicts who know exactly what I am saying.
